Out 'N' About - Holidays and Breaks for Disabled People

Money Matters

Of course we all know that going on holiday or having a break costs money. It is important to consider your budget before planning a break. There are some organisations out there that can help some people who are in greatest need of a break.

In this section we have included organisations that are able to offer information and advice as well as those that may offer some financial support. Your Local Authority may be able to help you towards the cost of short term breaks (sometimes known as respite care).
Services supported by the Local Authority usually involve you making a financial contribution towards costs. If you have a Social Worker you may wish to discuss with them any help that is available to you. Alternatively contact Social Care Direct on 0845 8 50 50 10.
